Southern Conference Freshman of the Year Kade Rule is one of two Chattanooga Mocs vying for the podium this week at the NCAA Wrestling Championships.

Overview
The Chattanooga Mocs have a long and storied history on the wrestling mat. Two Mocs look to add their names to a legendary list as NCAA Mat Madness begins Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio. Senior Cooper Flynn and true freshman Kade Rule qualified through dominant performances at the Southern Conference Championships nine days ago in Asheville, N.C.

Breakdown
  • Fifth straight year with multiple SoCon Champions. FORTY-THIRD time in 49 years in the league.
  • Both Flynn & Rule scored 17 points which tied for most in the event with Bellarmine's 165 Jeb Prechtel.
  • Flynn earned his ticket with first period falls sandwiching a decision over defending champion and NCAA Qualifier Gylon Sims in the semis.
  • Rule buried the 197 bracket with back-to-back tech falls and a major decision in the finals.
  • Flynn & Rule were two of five champions to earn bonus points in the finals with Flynn being the only fall.
