CHATTANOOGA (March 26, 2026) — The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team continued its stellar start to Southern Conference play following a decisive 6-1 victory over Western Carolina on a sunny Thursday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.

• Chattanooga improves to 14-2 overall and remains perfect at 3-0 inside SoCon play after the win… Western Carolina drops to 2-14 overall and 0-4 in league matches.
• Chattanooga's 3-0 start to SoCon play is the best since a 5-0 start in 2015… UTC sits atop the league standings with fellow unbeatens Furman (3-0), ETSU (3-0) and Samford (2-0).

In doubles, Chattanooga's No. 2 pairing of Emma Pedretti and Savannah Presson opened the match with a dominating 6-0 victory before the hosts ultimately clinched the team point with a 6-4 win from Addison Iacono and Rufaro Magarira on court No. 1. WCU was forced to forfeit the No. 3 match in doubles due to limited player availability.

In singles, WCU was also forced to forfeit matches at both the No. 5 and No. 6 slots which allowed UTC to hold an early 3-0 lead with four matches to play. Magarira posted the team's fourth point following win by retirement from the Catamounts No. 2 representative. Pedretti and Presson added two more team points with victories on courts No. 3 and No. 4 to finalize the victory.
