CHATTANOOGA (April 17, 2026) — The No. 3 seed Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team had its incredible season conclude after falling to No. 2 ETSU 4-2 during a highly-contested semifinal battle during the Southern Conference Championships Friday afternoon at Champions Club in Chattanooga.

Team Notables

• Chattanooga finishes the season 17-5 overall following the defeat… most victories in a single season since 18 during the 2015 season… ETSU improved to 15-7 overall after the victory.
• Chattanooga posted its first trip to the SoCon Semifinals since 2022… team held the No. 3 seed in the event… best seed in the SoCon Tournament since 2016.

 
Match Recap
In doubles, ETSU raced out of the gate with a 6-1 victory from Alessandra Caceres and Mariangel Estrella on court No. 1 over UTC's Addison Iacono and Rufaro Magarira. Chattanooga's Emma Pedretti and Savannah Presson suffered a 6-2 defeat to Julia Millan and Ksenija Rage at No. 2 as the Bucs walked out with a 1-0 lead after doubles action.
 
In singles, ETSU extended its lead when Caceres defeated Magarira 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 before Estrella's 6-3, 6-0 victory over Zara Burns at No. 5 allowed for a 3-0 edge. Chattanooga responded as Iacono secured a win at No. 1, defeating Rage 6-4, 6-1, before Jordan Fenton added to the momentum with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Niyati Kukreti to cut the deficit to 3-2.
 
Chattanooga continued to battle and build some momentum with Presson and Pedretti still in action on courts No. 3 and No. 4. ETSU's Millan erased a three-point deficit in the second set and clinched the match behind a 7-5, 6-4 final tally over Presson at No. 3. Pedretti and Audelie Lesauvage's match went unfinished at No. 4 as the latter held a slight 4-3 edge in the deciding third set.
