2017-18
- 20 starts in 25 appearances…joined the team in November following football season...lettered two years on the gridiron playing defensive end (2016) and outside linebacker (2017).
- Averaged 9.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game…shot 55.7 percent from the field and 56.4 percent at the free throw line…made 68.6 percent (24-35) over the campaign’s final eight contests.
- Three-year letter winner at Middle Tennessee in men’s hoops playing the 2014-16 seasons…won regular season Conference USA crown in 2014…CUSA tournament title and trip to NCAAs in 2016.
- Made debut on Nov. 25 vs. Tennessee Wesleyan with 14 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes after just two days of practice...followed up with 13 off the bench at Akron with 11 coming in the first half keeping the squad within in striking distance in a narrow defeat.
- 11 contests scoring in double figures...tallied career-high 17 against ETSU and at UNCG.
- Three double-doubles with 17 and 10 at UNCG, 16 and 13 at Furman and 10 and 12 in home win over the Spartans.
- Five games with double-digits on the glass including a career-high 14 at VMI...four of those came in the final four road games of regular season (12 at ETSU, 13 at Furman, 10 at UNCG & VMI).
- First UTC start at Samford...12 points and five boards.
- Made the SoCon Honor Roll.
 
CHATTANOOGA FOOTBALL
- Played outside linebacker (2017) and defensive end (2016) for Tom Arth and Russ Huesman.
- 2016 (Junior): Played in 12 games off the bench, mostly on PAT/FG unit...finished with three tackles...had one breakup against Mercer...had a hurry in FCS Playoff win over Weber State.
- 2017 (Senior): Played in all 11 games recording eight tackles, five solo...two tackles for loss with one each at LSU and The Citadel...also had a QB hurry against the Bulldogs.
 
MIDDLE TENNESSEE BASKETBALL
- Played in 65 games with two starts for Kermit Davis in the post for the Blue Raiders.
- Conference USA Regular Season Champion: 2014.
- Conference USA Tournament Champion: 2016.
- 401 career minutes with 83 points, 107 rebounds and 15 blocks...career averages of 1.3 ppg, 1.6 rpg and 0.2 bpg.
- Shot 40.9 percent (27-66) from the field and 55.8 percent (29-52) from the free throw line.
 
HIGH SCHOOL
- 2013 All-state basketball player at Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville, Tenn., playing for Kip Brown...led JPII to a 20-11 record
- Named to the All-Sumner County Team in 2011-12...averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds per game as a junior under head coach Kip Brown
- Played in two All-Star games earning All-Mid-State honors.
- Also played football for three years.

- Joshua Stephen Phillips is the son of Tami and Derrick Phillips...born June 14.
- Younger brother, Jacob, who plays football at LSU...the two met on the field September 2017.
