McKenzie Arena Athletic Training Room:
The McKenzie Arena athletic training room, located in the Chattanooga Mocs multi-purpose arena is home to all student-athletes from the fifteen collegiate sports on campus. This new facility recently opened in October 2023 and is part of the Wolford Family Athletic Center. The new facility provides prevention, treatment, diagnosis and rehabilitation services to our student-athletes. It houses state-of-the-art equipment, modalities, a hydrotherapy room and the offices of our dedicated athletic training staff.
The McKenzie Arena athletic training room also hosts a rehabilitation room. It provides a variety of rehabilitation equipment for student-athletes on their path to success. This facility features weightlifting machines, cardio equipment, therapeutic modalities and taping tables all necessary for the health of our student-athletes.
Maclellan Gym Athletic Training Room:
The Maclellan satellite athletic training room, located in Maclellan Gymnasium, home of our 29-time SoCon conference champion wrestling team and 5-time SoCon tournament champion volleyball team, was built in 1961 and is named after Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jardin Maclellan. The facility features a wet room, therapeutic tables and therapeutic modalities designed to help our student-athletes succeed.
Softball Athletic Training Room:
The UTC Softball satellite athletic training room, located at the Warner Park complex, home to the 14-time SoCon tournament champion Chattanooga Mocs Softball team, provides student-athletes with therapeutic treatment tables, taping stations, rehabilitation equipment and thermal modalities. This facility is critical for both practice and game day preparation for our softball student-athletes, as well as the host site for many tournaments including the Southern Conference Tournament on occasion.
Sports Complex Athletic Training Room:
The UTC Sports Complex satellite athletic training facility located at the UTC Sports Complex, a $7.7 million project built in Fall of 2019, houses the Mocs women’s soccer team and beach volleyball team. Equipped with therapeutic tables and taping tables, this facility provides both a practice and game day space for our students-athletes to get prepared for action.
Lawson Center:
The Wolford Family strength and conditioning center, located in the $3.2 million Student-Athlete Success Center named after Brenda Lawson, provides up-to-date weightlifting and conditioning equipment to accommodate every workout essential for our student-athletes success. Newly renovated in 2022, this multipurpose facility provides student-athletes with a space to train at elite levels, allowing them to compete at the highest level.
