NEWARK HIGH SCHOOL:  Member of four consecutive State Championship teams at Newark High School … An All-State honoree as a linebacker as both a junior and senior … Collected 100 tackles junior year and 110 hits senior season … Yellow Jackets went 12-0 in each of his last two years … Coached at Newark by Butch Simpson … Also competed in baseball and played outfield.
