CHEROKEE HIGH SCHOOL:  Played running back, defensive back, cornerback and kick returner during his career … Two-time All-Region performer … Credited with 87 tackles and two interceptions while lined up at safety in 2004 … Moved to full-time quarterback after starter was injured … Compiled 725 rushing yards and five touchdowns … Hamstring injury limited his playing time in 2004 … Warriors advanced to the third round of the Class 5A state playoffs each of his last two years … Lost to Canton in 2004 … CHS went 10-3 his junior season and 9-4 his final year … Played receiver as a sophomore and caught 49 passes for 790 yards … Earned All-County accolades … Coached at Cherokee by Robert Dameron … Also recruited by Arkansas State, The Citadel, Gardner-Webb and Georgia Southern … Lettered four times in track and once in basketball … Collected All-State honors as a sprinter junior and senior seasons … Ran the 100 and 200 meters and the 4 x 100 relay.
