Johnson Quick Facts & Accomplishments

• • Joined the Chattanooga program as a true freshman in the fall of 2024.

Sophomore (2025-26)

• • Finished the season with 10 overall singles results, all coming during fall tournament action; went 3-7 overall for the season.
• • Posted fall singles victories over representatives from Bellarmine at the EKU DI Showdown in September, Middle Georgia State at the Gridiron Classic in October, and Tennessee State at the UTC Steve Baras Fall Invite, also in October.
• • Recorded 14 results in doubles for a 6-8 overall record; went 2-1 in dual action including a 1-0 mark in SoCon play, playing alongside three different teammates in the three dual matches.
• • Posted a 7-6 (6) tiebreak win with Jakub Jupa over The Citadel's No. 3 duo to open SoCon play on March 7; his other dual doubles win came six days earlier on March 1, a 7-5 win over Presbyterian's No. 3 tandem alongside teammate Kristof Kincses.

Freshman (2024-25)

• • Finished his rookie campaign 5-3 overall in singles play, all eight matches coming in the fall tournament portion; won five of his final six singles matches in the fall.
• • Appeared in four doubles matches during fall play, finishing 1-3, with a 6-2 win over Tennessee Tech alongside teammate Matej Laibl at the UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic.

Jesuit High School (Florida)

• • Product of Jesuit High School in Tampa, Fla.; a three-star prospect according to Tennis Recruiting Network, ranked as the No. 39 prospect in the state of Florida for the 2024 signing class and inside the top 100 (No. 94) in the Southeast region.
• • Reached No. 331 in the national rankings; advanced to the quarterfinal stage of the ITF J30 Santo Domingo event in August 2023 in the Dominican Republic, capturing three wins over international competitors.
• • Father, Patrick, competed for the UTC men's tennis team from 1993-96 and represented the team in the top pairings, compiling a 39-21 career doubles record along with 28 career singles victories.
• • Mother, Kim, also competed as a Moc, as a member of the track and field program.

"We are excited to announce that Sebastian Johnson has accepted a spot on the UTC Men's Tennis Team. He trains and competes out of Florida, considered to be one of the most competitive states for tennis. He is ranked top 50 in Florida for his class, and top 350 nationally, as a three-star recruit. He's been around the game, knows Chattanooga, and he is ready to get to work. He will thrive in our team environment. I look forward to working with him."
