Monica San Juan

One could say Monica San Juan returned to her alma mater in the summer of 2019 to take the role of assistant coach, but she never really left. She completed her playing career in May 2019 at the NCAA Championships Auburn Region.

She is one of the all-time greats in program history. San Juan became the ninth Moc to capture a win and did it in grand style. She topped perhaps the strongest field in Southern Conference history, including three who had just played in the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur, claiming the sixth SoCon Medalist honor in Chattanooga history. Her closest competitors finished four strokes back.

San Juan completed her career third in scoring average at 75.11 as well as finish percentage (69.3%). She was also third in par or better rounds (22) and second in cards in the 60s (6) over four campaigns. Monica’s three tournament par or better finishes during her senior year set a new school record.

She was an All-Southern Conference selection three times – 2017, 2018 & 2019 – as well as All-Freshman in 2016. Only Emma de Groot (4), Emily McLennan (4), Jordan Britt (3) and Agathe Sauzon (3) had three or more all-league mentions in their Mocs career.

She is slated to earned her degree in Industrial Engineering in December 2019. The native of Pamplona, Spain is a four-time WGCA All-American Scholar.
