In Katelyn Grisillo's first season as a part of UTC's coaching staff, the Mocs punched their ticket to the 2023 NCAA Tournament after beating Furman, ETSU and Wofford to claim Chattanooga’s 19th Southern Conference Tournament title.
Under Grisillo, the Mocs have seen Yazz Wazeerud-Din receive SoCon All-Conference First Team honors and Raven Thompson earn SoCon All-Conference Second Team honors. Grisillo also helped Thompson become just the fifth-ever SoCon Freshman of the Year in program history.
Grisillo joined Coach Shawn Poppie's coaching staff in 2022 after spending the previous five seasons with Wingate in Division II of the NCAA. It was there that she saw three years as an assistant coach after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant.
In her time with the Bulldogs, she helped Wingate to three consecutive NCAA Tournament bids and the 2017 SAC Tournament title. She assisted with all aspects of coaching, such as recruiting and scouting, with an emphasis on post players.
In her five seasons, Wingate had multiple student-athletes named to the All-SAC Teams as well as the 2017-18 SAC Co-Player of the Year, 2018-19 Freshman of the Year.
Grisillo graduated from USC Aiken in 2016 with a degree in communications and minor in business administration. She played in 45 games for the Pacers over two seasons and made 22 starts at the point. She began her collegiate career at Presbyterian where she played in 26 games and shot 42.9 percent.
