Zane Goedderz was hired in May 2023 as Assistant Director of Strategic Communications, where he now serves as the primary media and public relations contact for UTC’s women’s basketball, volleyball and beach volleyball programs.

Prior to Chattanooga, Goedderz served two years as a Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications at Ole Miss as well as working four years as a student intern in the University of Minnesota’s Athletic Communications office. He earned his Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ole Miss in 2023, while graduating in 2021 from Minnesota with a double major in Strategic Communications and Communication Studies.

A native to New London, Wisconsin, Goedderz has worked with a wide variety of teams as both a primary and secondary media relations contact. These roles included working with men’s basketball, men’s tennis, men’s & women’s golf, men’s gymnastics, men’s ice hockey, men’s track & field/cross country and baseball.

Goedderz also worked a brief stint as Public Relations Assistant with the St. Paul-based MLS team, Minnesota United FC. He helped manage the entire 2019 regular season, as well as the team’s playoff run, working with the club’s PR staff in what was just the team’s third season in the MLS, as well as their very first season playing at Allianz Field.
