2015-16 • SOPHOMORE SEASON:  Returned to UTC after a two-year mission trip and was on the team in the fall of 2015 ... scored one win in a dual against Southeastern at 133 pounds ... made the Dean's List and the A.D. Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA in the fall.  

2012-13 • FRESHMAN SEASON:  Finished with a 9-6 overall record at 133 ... went 2-0 in SoCon matches ... third place finish at the Newberry Open ... made the Dean's List and the A.D. Honor Roll in the spring.

PRIOR TO UTC:  Two-time state champion at Chattanooga's McCallie School ... went 45-3 as a senior at 138 pounds ... posted a 43-5 record as a junior and was runner-up at 125 pounds ... won the state titles at 112 pounds as a sophomore ... state qualifier as a cross country runner during his junior year ... member of the National Honor Society. 

PERSONAL:  Full name is Alexander Steven Ward ... born May 11, 1994 ... son of Steve and Deseret Ward ... has two brothers, Tyler and Jared, and three sisters, Lauren, Katherine and Anna ... father was a swimmer at BYU (1996) ... Eagle Scout ... also recruited by Boise State and Utah Valley.
