Eddie Kurjak joined the UTC cross country and track and field staff on August 3, 2026.
Kurjak comes to Chattanooga from the University of Georgia where he served as a volunteer assistant coach for his alma mater. He worked with the coaching staff at practices, primarily with the jumps group and collaborated with the coaching staff to develop training plans. He worked directly with the student-athletes providing technical feedback on all aspects of jumps.
He also has experience as a private coach providing one-on-one coaching to high school track and field athletes.
Kurjak earned his BA in Applied Mathematics from the University of Georgia where he was an NCAA All-American in the high jump. He earned a spot on the SEC Honor Roll twice. His Capstone project at UGA involved developing a step frequency algorithm relating athlete height to optimal stride patterns to use in the high jump and triple jump.
Prior to transferring to Georgia, Kurjak attended Colorado Mesa University where he was an NCAA All-American in the high jump and the triple jump.
He is a 2026 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics.
