CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Brooke Hand and Alex Anderson combined for 45 points to lead the Lady Mocs past Davidson 80-68 Friday afternoon at the North Charleston Coliseum. The win pits Chattanooga against Western Carolina in the finals of the Southern Conference tournament Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Hand was hot from the outside hitting 6-of-11 from beyond the arc to lead all scorers with 23 points while Anderson scored 22 points with inside shooting. Chattanooga had its second day of hot shooting making 27-of-52 from the floor with 11 treys.

Chattanooga started out slow falling behind 12-4 in the first four minutes of the game. Following a media timeout, Moore subbed in freshmen Shanara Hollinquest and Jenaya Wade-Fray and the Lady Mocs climbed into the game. UTC took control of the game grabbing a 14-12 lead on a 3-pointer from Anderson with 12:06 to play in the first half.

Davidson would tie it up twice after that before the Lady Mocs would go ahead for good, 23-20, on Hand's second trey of the game. Davidson would get no closer than four as Chattanooga built its lead to double digits taking a 45-29 advantage into the lockerroom at halftime.

The second half started as slow for the Lady Mocs as the first with the Wildcats scoring the first seven points of the half. Davidson cut the lead to six points with a 19-9 spurt to trail 54-48 with 12:49 to play in the game.

Anderson's game cooled in the second half, but Chattanooga continued to bury the Wildcats from the outside going 5-for-12 from 3-point land in the latter stanza.

Hollinquest had her best game since returning to the floor after sitting out the month of January with a foot injury. She just missed her fourth double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, playing 22 minutes. She was 4-for-5 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

The Lady Mocs outrebounded Davidson 33-29 and got 28 points from the bench compared to the Wildcats' four. Anderson pulled down six board and dished out three assists, while Laura Hall had five assists. Hand notched four rebounds with two assists and two steals in the game.
