- Chattanooga is now 9-12 on the season and 5-5 in the SoCon with a 92-70 loss at the McKenzie Arena tonight... Davidson moves to 17-3  overall,10-0 in league play...  Davidson's streak of 40 straight SoCon wins is extended.

 

- Chattanooga is now 31-20 against Davidson, 17-4  at home.

 

- Tonight's game featured two of the winningest programs in SoCon history.  Since 1977-78 when the Mocs entered the league, Chattanooga leads the league with 25 total (regular season, division and tournament) championships with Davidson in second with 16.

 

- UTC is now 322-167  in Southern Conference regular-season games.

 

- The Mocs started the game 0-12 from 3-pt. range...missing all 12 of their first-half attempts...UTC rebounded from deep in the second half, going 7-10 behind the arc in the final 20 minutes.

 

- Tonight's attendance was 9,234...it is a season-high and the 17th largest in McKenzie Arena history...it is the biggest crowd since UTC drew 11,221 for the Tennessee (L, 70-76) game on Dec. 4, 2007...prior to that, the Mocs had not drawn a crowd of 9,000+ since getting 9,211 for the Marshall  game (W, 9-72) on Feb.22, 1997...tonight's attendance is also the 10th largest for s a SoCon game in The McKenzie Arena and the biggest since drawing 10,205 against East Tennessee State (W, 86-84) on Feb. 5, 1994. 

 

- The Mocs had a chance to cut Davidson's first half lead to single digits...trailing 38-28 with 25 seconds left in the period, UTC worked the ball inside...senior Nicchaeus Doaks missed a contested layup...Davidson's Stephen Curry grabbed the rebound and drained a ?-court shot at the buzzer to put the Wildcats up 41-28.

 

- The Mocs return to action on Saturday hosting Georgia Southern at 5 pm. in the McKenzie Arena for SoCon Saturday on SportSouth.

Senior Stephen McDowell

- Second leading scorer in the conference at 19.4 ppg entering tonight's game... scored a team-high 17 points on 5-12 shooting, 4-10 from 3-pt. range and 3-7 from the FT line.

- 1 point, shooting 0-5 from the field, 0-4 from 3-pt. range and 1-2 from the FT line in the first half

- 42 career double-figure scoring games.

- 16 games with three or more three-pointers made, nine with five or more. 

- 197 career 3-pt. FGs, ranking second in school history...Keddric Mays (2006-07) has the record with 209.

- 89 three-pointers made this season is fourth all-time for a season at UTC...Mays holds the season record with 118 in 2007 and he is in third place with 91 in 2006.

- 847 career points leaves him 153 points shy of joining teammate Nicchaeus Doaks in the 1,000 point club.  He would become the 17th member since Chattanooga's move to DI in 1977-78.

- In the McKenzie Arena this season, he is shooting 51.4% (55-107) from the field and (50.0%) 39-78 percent from three-point range.

           

Senior Nicchaeus Doaks

- Passed the 1,200-pt mark for his career... scored 15 points tonight and now has 1,214 in his career

- Entered game as SoCon's leading rebounder at 9.5 rpg...grabbed 10 tonight

- Team-high eighth double-double of the season and the fourth highest of his career

- 87 career blocks...tied among active players in the SoCon lead with Brett James (Elon)...fourth place on UTC's list...Niel Ashby is in third place with 110.

- Fifth-place on the UTC scoring list with 1,214 points...needs 113 more to pass Lance Fulse (1985-88) for fourth place at Chattanooga with 1,325.

- Ranks No. 2 in rebounds all-time at UTC with 715...career leader is Fulse with 747.

 

Senior Kevin Goffney

- Scored 16 points on 6-13 shooting, 0-3 from 3-pt. range and 4-5 from the FT line

- 9 games this season scoring in double figures... 16 in his two-year career.

 

Senior Khalil Hartwell

- Nine points to go with a game-high 13 rebounds

- Second straight game with a career-high 13 boards

- Topped the  600-point mark for his career...has 608

- 559 rebounds ranks him fourth all-time at UTC behind Fulse and Doaks.

- Has led or tied for the lead in rebounding for the Mocs in eight games on the season, 18 in his career.

- 5 double-figure rebounding games in 2008-09, 9 in his career.
