Team

- Chattanooga opens the season with a 107-62 win over Virginia Intermont in the McKenzie Arena...the Cobras are 0-4.
- Chattanooga is now 2-0 against VIC.
 - The Mocs are now 19-0 in season openers at home since moving to Division I in 1977-78.
- The 62 first half points are the most in a half for the Mocs since the Nov. 9, 2007 opener against Covenant College (72).
- The Mocs scored their 100th point at 5:58 in the second half on a Sam Watson layup.  It is the 34th time the Mocs have scored 100 points as a Division I school.
- Everyone who played for the Mocs scored.
- Every Moc played at least 15 minutes with a high of 24 for junior Jeff Smith who had a career-high 11 points.
- Chattanooga controlled the boards with a 59 to 29 advantage.  The Mocs had 35 second-chance points.
- The Mocs scored 52 points in the paint compared to 16 for the Cobras.
- UTC is now 328-80 in the McKenzie Arena.  The Mocs are 611-357 as a DI program.
- Head Coach John Shulman is now 91-72 in his sixth year, 61-19 in the McKenzie Arena.
- The Mocs remain at home to face traditional rival East Tennessee State at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 17.  The athletics office is offering the "Rock the Roundhouse" ticket promotion where all upper level seats cost just $1.  Tickets can be purchased at the McKenzie Arena box office at Gate 1 or online at GoMocs.com using the promo code "beatetsu".

Individual

Junior Jeremy Saffore
- Career highs with 15 points and 13 rebounds.  Ten of his 13 rebounds came on the offensive end.  He shot 6-8 from the field.
- First double-double of his career.
- First time in double digits in either points or rebounds.
- Third career start.

Freshman Josh Odem
- True freshman made his first collegiate start collecting 16 points, four rebounds and two steals.
- He shot 5-11 from the field, 3-6 from three-point range and 3-3 from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Keegan Bell
- Made his Chattanooga debut with 12 points on 4-5 shooting including 2-3 from three-point range.
- Added six assists and five steals which are the most by a Mocs player since Keyron Sheard had five thefts in double overtime at Elon (1/24/09).
- The points ties his career high, while the five steals tops the totals he earned as a freshman at Vanderbilt (2007-08).

Sophomore Ricky Taylor
- Posted new career highs with 17 points and five rebounds in his first collegiate start.
- Shot 7-14 from the field and 3-9 from three-point range.

Junior Ridge McKeither
- Started his Mocs career off with 14 points and seven rebounds.
- Shot 6-9 from the field, 1-2 from three-point range and 1-2 from the line.
