- Chattanooga is now 2-1 on the season after a 75-49 loss at Richmond Sunday evening. Richmond is now 3-1, 3-0 in the Robins Center.
- The Spider now lead the series 2-0. Richmond won the first matchup between the two schools in 1969-70, 85-74.
- UTC is now 161-213 on the road in the DI era. The Mocs are 612-358 as a DI program.
- Head Coach John Shulman is now 92-73 in his sixth year, 23-42 on the road. Tonight was his first meeting with an Atlantic 10 program.
- The Mocs did not score a field goal in the first 5:30 of the game until a DeAntre Jefferson layup at 14:30. The Spiders opened the game with a 14-0 run.
- Chattanooga grabbed just one offensive rebound in the first half, although Ridge McKeither did convert it for two points. For the game Richmond scored 20 second chance points compared to six for the Mocs.
- UTC entered the game with a +7.5 turnover margin. Tonight's game saw the Mocs turn it over 23 times while the Spiders made just 10 miscues. The Spiders scored 26 points off the Mocs turnovers while UTC managed just seven.
- Second straight game the Mocs have been out-rebounded. In those two games opponents hold a 86 to 68 advantage.
- The Mocs still played without the services of four scholarship players (Troy Cage, Chris Early, Dante Harvey, Ty Patterson). The Spiders played without reserve senior guard/forward Kevin Hovde.
- Tonight's game and the Missouri matchup are part of the South Padre Island Invitational. The Mocs, Spiders and Tigers will join five other programs during Thanksgiving weekend in South Padre Island, Texas for the tournament portion of the event. The Mocs are matched up Friday in one bracket against the University of Texas-Pan American and will face either Bethune-Cookman or Longwood on Saturday. Richmond and Missouri will be joined in the other bracket by Old Dominion and Mississippi State.
- The four-game, nine-day road trip is just one game and two days through. Round-trip, the Mocs will travel 3,886 miles.
Individual
Junior Ridge McKeither
- Led the Mocs with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
- First collegiate double-double.
- Shot 5-11 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line.
Junior DeAntre Jefferson
- Had 10 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench.
- Also blocked a team-high four shots.
Sophomore Jasper Williams
- Made his first career start (in place of Josh Odem) tonight with six points on 2-5 shooting from three-point range.
Freshman Josh Odem
- Due to a wrist sprain, Odem came off the bench for the first time in his brief collegiate career.
- He ended up with nine points in 25 minutes.
