Team
- Chattanooga is now 2-3 on the season after a disappointing 61-50 loss vs. Texas-Pan American Friday afternoon.  UTPA is 1-5.  The Mocs will play Longwood (0-6) at 12:30 p.m. (ET), tomorrow.

- This was the first game between the two schools.  It will also be the first meeting with Longwood.

- UTC is now 65-55 neutral site games in the DI era.  The Mocs are 612-360 as a DI program (33rd season).

- Head Coach John Shulman is 92-75 in his sixth year, 7-13 at neutral sites.

- The Mocs have lost five straight neutral site games including the 2009 NCAA West Regional loss to UConn.

- Chattanooga is 86-44 in in-season tournament play which does not count preliminary rounds for recent tournaments.  The Mocs have won 30 such events including 25 at home and five at neutral or road sites.  The last tournament win for UTC came at the 1989 Disneyland Freedom Bowl Classic in Anaheim, Calif., defeating Navy (86-81) and UC Irvine (74-72).

- Chattanooga was out-rebounded for the third time in five games, 45-38.

- UTPA score 14 of its points off of 12 offensive rebounds.  The Broncs had 10 second chance points in the second half.  Chattanooga managed just six points on nine offensive boards.

- The Mocs scored just 13 points on 18 Broncs turnovers,

- The last time the Mocs played in Texas was an 83-76 loss at North Texas in Denton on Dec. 3, 2005.  It was part of a 1-5 start and was followed with a 69-64 home win over mid-major power Creighton.  After the 1-5 start, the Mocs went 18-8 losing in the Southern Conference Tournament Championship game to Davidson.

- UTPA is located in Edinburg, Texas just 63 miles away, which is about a 90-minute drive.

- The last time Chattanooga played in a tournament in the state of Texas was Dec. 9-10, 1988 in Austin topping Jacksonville (Fla.) 77-76 (ot) and losing to host Texas 103-88.  The Longhorns avenged a 71-70 loss to the Mocs on Dec. 21, 1987 in the McKenzie Arena.

- The Mocs still played without the services of three scholarship players (Troy Cage, Chris Early, Ty Patterson).

- Today's game is a part of the South Padre Island Invitational.  The Mocs, Broncs, Lancers (Longwood) and Wildcats (Bethune-Cookman) share one bracket, while Missouri, Mississippi State, Old Dominion and Richmond are in the other.  The brackets are set by the teams that hosted two games in preliminary rounds prior to convening in South Padre (i.e. Richmond/Missouri whom the Mocs travelled to play).

- The four-game, nine-day road trip is almost complete with one game and two days remaining.  Round-trip, the Mocs will travel 3,886 miles.

Individual

Junior DeAntre Jefferson
- Led the Mocs with 12 points on 4-6 shooting from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line off the bench in 21 minutes.
- He had a game-high nine rebounds.
- He has made 10 of his last 11 free throws.

Freshman Sam Watson
- Provided a big spark of the bench in the first half hitting two first-half three-pointers which keyed a 15-2 Mocs run to take the lead.
- Finished with six points.

Freshman Dontay Hampton
- Career highs with five assists and five rebounds in nine minutes.
- The five rebounds were second on the team and the five assists led all players.
