Chattanooga 80, Jacksonville State 71
Mathews Coliseum - Jacksonville, Ala.
Dec. 1, 2009

Team
- Chattanooga is 4-3 on the season following an 80-71 win at Jacksonville State Tuesday night.  The Gamecocks are 2-4.

- The Mocs now lead the series 15-4 which dates back to the 1951-52 season.  The Mocs have won seven straight meetings and 15 of the last 16.

- Tonight's game is a return trip from the 2007 ESPN BracketBusters game played on Feb. 17 which was a 75-64 Mocs win.

- UTC is now 614-360 as a DI program (33rd season), 162-214 on the road.

- Head Coach John Shulman is 94-75 in his sixth year, 24-43 on the road.

- Chattanooga is 74-70 against the current membership of the Ohio Valley Conference, 35-13 since the move to Division I in 1977-78.

- The Mocs had a six-point possession as JSU head coach James Green drew two technical fouls and was ejected from the game at 13:37.  After Keegan Bell hit 3-4 free throws, Ricky Taylor buried a three from the right corner at 13:25.

- Chattanooga shot 49.1 percent (28-57) from the field for the game, 51.6% (16-31) in the first half and 46.2% (12-26) in the second.

- The Mocs out-scored the Gamecocks 36-20 in the paint, but were out-rebounded 36-30 by JSU.  It is the fifth time in seven games the Mocs lost the glass.

- JSU scored just 11 field goals inside the three-point line shooting 12-30 (40.0%) from three-point range and 11-24 (45.8)% from inside it.

- Chattanooga had a +6 turnover margin with 10 turnovers against 16 for JSU.  The Mocs scored 19 points off the 16 Gamecocks miscues.

- The Mocs still played without the services of two scholarship players (Troy Cage, Ty Patterson).  Patterson is slated to return on Dec. 12, while Cage is battling a stress fracture problem in his legs.  Dante Harvey played one minute before getting dumped to the floor on an offensive rebound.  The Gamecocks dressed nine on the evening, just eight scholarship, due to an injury to senior Amadou Mbodji.

- This is the end of a five-game, 10-day road trip.  Round-trip, the Mocs travelled more than 4,000 miles.
