Chattanooga 84, Tennessee Temple 52
McKenzie Arena - Chattanooga, Tenn.
Dec. 21, 2009

Team
- Chattanooga is 6-6 on the season, 0-1 in the Southern Conference topping Tennessee Temple 84-52 Monday night at the McKenzie Arena.  The Crusaders are 6-9.

- The Mocs now lead the series 8-0.  UTC and TTU have played back-to-back years after a 24-year break since 1984.  The two teams played five straight seasons beginning in 1979 before the series hiatus.  Last year's meeting was a 108-67 win for the Mocs (11/29/08).

- UTC is 616-363 as a DI program (33rd season), 388-93 at home, 328-82 in the McKenzie Arena.

- Head Coach John Shulman is 96-78 in his sixth year, 64-21 at home, 1-0 against Tennessee Temple.

- Entering tonight's game, the Mocs shoot 48.2 percent from the field in wins and 36.6 percent in losses.  Tonight they shot 54.5 percent.  TTU shot 29.5 percent for the game.  The 54.5 percent shooting for the Mocs is a season's best and the first time they have topped the 50 percent mark.

- Chattanooga's bench accounted for 53 of its 84 points (63.1%).

- The Mocs are 5-1 heading into the holiday break under Shulman.

- The Mocs coughed up 21 turnovers on the night which is the most in six games since 22 in the win over Longwood.  Tennessee Temple recorded just nine points off those 21 miscues.

- Chattanooga dominated the paint tonight out-scoring the Crusaders 44 to 25 inside.  The Mocs also held a 47-30 advantage on the glass.

- All 13 available players competed tonight with nine playing double-digit minutes.

- The Mocs played without the services of two scholarship players (Troy Cage, Dante Harvey) due to injury.  Cage is possibly out for the year after surgery to repair stress fractures in his leg.  Harvey is out until mid-to-late January with a wrist injury suffered at Jacksonville State (12/1).  UTC has lost 35 man-game missed on the season through eight games.
