Team

- Chattanooga is now 15-16 on the season and 11-9 in the SoCon after an 86-77 loss in the Ramsey Center Saturday night... Western Carolina moves to 16-14 overall, 11-9 in league play.

 

- Chattanooga is now 47-16 against the Catamounts, 15-13 in Cullowhee... The Mocs won the earlier meeting this season, 82-75, in the McKenzie Arena.

 

- For the second year in a row, the Mocs are co-Champions of the Southern Conference North Division.

 

- SoCON TOURNAMENT SEEDS ? NORTH DIVISION:  No. 1Chattanooga, No. 2 Western Carolina, No. 3 Samford, No. 4 Appalachian State, No. 5 Elon, No. 6 UNC Greensboro

 

- SoCON TOURNAMENT SEEDS ? SOUTH DIVISION:  No. 1Davidson, No. 2 The Citadel/College of Charleston, No. 3 College of Charleston/The Citadel, No. 4 Wofford, No. 5 Georgia Southern, No. 6 Furman.  The Citadel will be the No. 2 seed with a win Monday at Georgia Southern.  CofC can get the two seed only if The Citadel loses both games.

 

- Teams in UTC's Bracket for the SoCon Tournament:  UTC plays the winner of Wofford vs. Elon next Saturday night, Mar. 7 at 7 p.m.  The two seed from the South will play the winner of Furman vs. Samford in the other segment of the bracket.

 

- UTC is now 328-171 in Southern Conference regular-season games.

 

- Tonight is game four of a four-game in eight-day stretch for the Mocs.

- Western made 11 of its 14 three-pointers in the first half en route to a 51-33 advantage.

- UTC scored 20 of its 34 points in the paint in the second half.

- Chattanooga finishes 2008-09 4-6 on the road in SoCon play.

 

- Chattanooga awaits the start of the Southern Conference tournament played Mar. 6-9 in the McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga... As mentioned earlier, Chattanooga will face the winner of Wofford-Elon at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7.

Senior Stephen McDowell

- 5 points on 2-8 FG, 1-4 3-pt.

- Third in the NATION in 3-ptFGM/Gm (4.0), 42nd in scoring (18.7) and 24th in 3ptFG% (42.5).

- 1,009 career points moves him past Ashley Champion (1,005, 2003-04) for 16th place on the scoring chart.

- Mocs career leader in 3-pt. FGM with 228 and 3-pt. FGA with 578.  UTC leader with 120 3-pt FGM this season.

- Only UTC player to make 100 or more threes in more than one season.

- Moved to sixth in season points with 567 now by Derrick Kirce (566, 1989-90). 

 

Senior Nicchaeus Doaks

- 19 pts, 6 reb, 8-11 FG

- His 791 rebounds is the UTC DI career record as is his 555 FT attempts.  Only player other than Lance Fulse (1985-88) in UTC history with 1000-plus points and 700-plus rebounds in their career.

- Now has 1,369 points, 80 behind Gerald Wilkins (1983-85) and Brandon Born (1992-95) in second place.

- Second all-time in free throws made (359) to Stanford Strickland (401).

- Now tied with Mindaugas Katelynas (2004-05) in for third most rebounds in a season at 275.

 

Senior Kevin Goffney

- 16 pts., 7 reb.

- Scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half.

- 16 double-figure scoring games this season, 23 for his two-year career.

 

Senior Khalil Hartwell

- 15 pts, 6 reb., 4-7 FG, 7-10 FT

- 14 double-figure scoring games, 26 in his career. 

- 727 points and 627 rebounds in his career.

 

Senior Keyron Sheard

- 11 pts including 7-8 FT

- 10th double digit scoring outing of the season, 12th of his career.
