TEAM

- Chattanooga defeated No. 17 Wofford 38-9 to improve to 3-1 (1-1 SoCon) on the season for the first time since 1997.

- Mocs equal combined win total from previous two seasons (2-9 in 2007/1-11 in 2008).

- Mocs led 17-7 at the half...first halftime lead over Wofford since 2005 when UTC posted its last win in the series 25-13.

- UTC scored on four-consecutive drives between the second and third quarters.

- Tonight's victory is the Mocs biggest SoCon win since a 38-0 shutout over Western Carolina on Oct. 25, 2003.

- Chattanooga snaps a 13-game losing streak to SoCon opponents with the win...their last victory in league action was 39-21 against Western Carolina on Oct. 13, 2007. 

- The Mocs' 38 points ties for the most against Wofford in series history...the last time UTC scored 38 points against the Terriers (38-7) was in the first game of the rivalry on Oct. 15, 1927...Wofford's nine points are the fewest in the series since a 31-3 UTC win on Oct. 3, 1998...The Terriers had outscored Chattanooga 153-23 in the previous three meetings.

-  The Mocs held Wofford to 151 yards rushing...that is over 100 yards less than its average in 2009 (258.3) coming into tonight's game.

- The win is UTC's first over a ranked FCS team since a 27-26 victory over No. 19 Georgia Southern on Sept. 23, 2006.

- The Mocs defense held a Division I team to less than 10 points for the first time since a 31-7 win at Tennessee Tech on August 31, 2006...it is the fewest points allowed in a SoCon game since a 10-7 win at Elon on Oct. 15, 2005. 

- Wofford had 151 yards rushing and 226 yards total offense on the night...here is a look at their totals in the previous four meetings with the Mocs

- 2005: 228 rushing, 337 total

- 2006: 326 rushing, 403 total

- 2007: 349 rushing, 444 total

- 2008: 417 rushing, 546 total

INDIVIDUAL

Sophomore B.J. Coleman

- Went 23-30 with four TD passes and 176 yards

- Had the most completions (23) and TDs (4) on the season and the fewest yards (176)

- Most TD passes by a Moc since Cedric Stevens had five against Appalachian State in 2004

Senior Blue Cooper

- Had four catches for 20 yards and two 2 TDs

- Now has 10 career TD receptions...three on the season

- Second time in his career he has caught 2 TDs...last was against Cumberland in 2008.

Sophomore J.D. Dothard

- Ran back a fumbled kick-off return 51 yards for a TD, his first career score

Senior Jare Gault

- Started at receiver in a four-wide set.

- Made his first catch of the season - 12 yards - for a first down on the Mocs' first scoring drive.

Senior Shaun Kermah

- Had his first touch of the season (rushing or receiving) with a 2-yard reception in the 2nd quarter. 

Junior Chris Pitchford

- Career-high 55 yards receiving

- Career-high 8 catches

- Added his second TD reception of the season

Junior Buster Skrine

- Second INT of the season...fourth of his career

Sophomore Jordan Tippit

- 2nd INT of the season
