Chattanooga Football - Postgame Quotes
No. 24 Chattanooga at No. 25 Furman
Paladin Stadium - Greenville, S.C.
Oct. 23, 2010

Chattanooga Head Coach Russ Huesman
Opening Statement
"They love it in there because we always talk about kicking down doors.  Now five in a row, four conference wins, we had never beaten Furman and Georgia Southern in the same year.  Every week, something positive happens.  I am so proud of them.  An unbelievable group of guys.  I am so proud of them."

On the difference in the defense in the second half
"We played well in the first half.  They had 100 yards of offense in the first half and that is what I told (our team).  I said, 'Furman is in there making all of the adjustments.'  They are in there trying to figure out how to cover our wideouts or how to move the ball on us.  Our defense played well the hole game...I thought."

On continuing to pass despite the interceptions
"Give Furman credit.  That was unbelievable.  The plays that they made.  They made multiple, multiple plays when we had chances to score and keep ourselves in it.  They have a good secondary, obviously, and they can go after the ball.  Even though we yell and scream at them and then tell them to just go play.  Even on the last drive, I told (Offensive Coordinator Marcus Satterfield) Sat, 'Do what we do.'

On going for it on fourth down at the end of the game
"We had a big conversation about that one.  Maybe the final straw that made me decide was when B.J. (Coleman) looked at me and I said, 'Can you get it?' and he said, "Yeah, I can get it.'  People are doing that all over the country.  You see that a lot in college football and in the NFL.  There is no reason to give them the ball back when we have that far to go and an All-American quarterback quarterbacking for us.  It is kind of an easy decision."

On how well B.J. to Joel keeps working
"I don't know.  Joel is just getting open I guess.  Sneaky, Sneaky."

Freshman DB Kadeem Wise
On the interception at the end of the game
"From the beginning of the year coach said study your playbook and watch film so when it is your time to make a play, you know it is coming.  I knew that if it is third down, they always run the curl.  I put my mind to it and I went and got it."

On having to step up due to the struggles early in the game
"I think it brought us together as a team.  The offense got in the red zone and was having problems scoring. We kept telling them to keep it and that we believed in them.  That gave them a little jolt."

Junior QB B.J. Coleman
Thoughts on the game
"Absolutely.  Furman...great football team.  You have to tip your hat to those guys.  Traditionally, they have a lot of tradition behind them.  (We) did nothing but fight, claw and scratch for every single inch that we got.  Everything that we have done, every situation that we have been in this year has been for a reason.   We lost our first two to top-5 teams.  We learned some lessons from those games that we never can quit."

On the chemistry with WR Joel Bradford
"You can't say enough about Joel.  He and I have played together since we were 12 years old.  We love each other.  We understand each other.  I always know where he is going to be.  If I can control not making bad passes I think he will have more than he has now.  I am so proud of what he does."

Junior WR Joel Bradford
On the record-breaking performance
"I try to be just as prepared as possible when I go into the game.  I know I am going to catch a ball.  I just have to catch that first ball.  My job is to catch a ball.  Run a good route, catch the ball and do something with it.  That's what I try to do week-in and week-out.  I have bought into this system and I think this whole team has bought into this system.  It was a special comeback.  In that fourth quarter we were just rolling and I felt like no one could stop us."
