MACON, Ga. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's men's golf team moved into a tie for fourth today at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship at the Brickyard at Riverside. Chattanooga's 291 (+3) made up three shots on defending champ - and 2010 national champion - Augusta State to knot the duo in fourth at 583.
Georgia leads the event at 571 (-5) after a 284 (-4), the lone subpar round of the day. Georgia Tech and Florida State are tied for second at 580, three shots clear of the Mocs.
It was sophomore Steven Fox's (Hendersonville, Tenn.) day with a four-under par 68, his low round of the season. Fox carded six birdies against two bogeys playing the back nine at five-under par 31 and is tied for eighth at 142 (-2).
Junior Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) continued his steady play with a 72 (E) and is now tied for 17th with a one-over par total of 145. He is two shots ahead of true freshman Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) whose 74 (+2) today puts him in a tied for 24th at 147 (+3).
Redshirt freshman Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) and Benni Weilguni (Langelois, Austria) each shot 77 (+5) for their second rounds. Robb is tied for 37th at 149 (+5) after an eagle three on the par 5 finishing hole, while Weilguni is tied for 54th at 154.
