AUSTIN, Texas --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's golf team is in 15th-place after 18 holes at the 37th Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational. The Mocs shot 314 and is two shots behind Oklahoma in 14th and two shots clear of Tulsa.
No. 1 UCLA leads at 295. Texas is one shot back at 296, while No. 22 TCU is in third, three strokes back at 298.
The UT Golf Club was stingy allowing just five birdies to the Mocs on the day. By comparison, the host and second-place Longhorn squad managed nine in its 18 holes.
Junior Emma de Groot led Chattanooga with a three-over par 75 and is tied for 22nd. Maria Juliana Loza's 77 (+5) included 13 pars and five bogeys. She is tied for 41st.
Katie Taylor is tied for 74th at 81, while Christine Wolf and Moa Duf each shot 82 and are tied for 80th.
Shannon Fish of Texas and Sarah Zwartynski of Texas A&M are the individual leaders after two-under par 70s. UCLA's Stephanie Kono and Stanford Kristina Wong are tied for third at 71 (-1). Fish is playing as an individual not counting to the Texas score.
