Head Coach Frank Reed
On what to take from this series:
"This is a team I have seen early in play in spots that will frustrate you (the opposition and myself). My favorite thing to say is 'if I have never seen you hit, play or field at a certain level, I don't expect you to get there, but if I have seen you be there, I expect you to be there on a consistent basis.' I think that is the thing we have struggled with."

"Elon is a really good offensive team, but you can see what good pitching can do to a good offensive team. Nikki [Waters] held them to one hit, shut down the big hitters and hit her spots. Our offense was dominant today because the pitchers for Elon that hit their spots yesterday did not hit them today. I had questioned myself about Elon's four losses, but I understand now. The pitchers that beat them hit their spots, consistently."

On Nikki Waters' all-around performance:
"Nikki Waters is such an unselfish kid, but is hard on herself. We have a few kids like that and Nikki is one of them. She struggled early in the year. We talked about how pitching needed to step it up, but she has pitched so well in the conference lately that I wanted to give her a start. She made us look good by hitting her spots and throwing it where she needed her to throw it."

On today's victory:
"Today's win was big. The four teams will be in the tournament, but the team that will win will be the most consistent. This win has to hurt Elon a lot. They still have some tough games to play against some teams that will be in the top four."

Junior Pitcher Nikki Waters
On what she felt warming up:
"I felt good while I was warming up. I went out there knowing I had to hit my spots and be on top of my game because we needed this win."

On which pitches worked today:
"My curve and screwball was working well today because they were jamming Elon. My changeup was working well today, too."

On the homerun:
"Hitting the homerun felt good. She threw me a pitch near the middle-inside part of the plate that looked like she just missed her spot. I didn't see how close it was to the foul-pole though. I just seen it go up when I hit it and I thought it was fair."

On the no-hitter being broken up in the seventh:
"I wasn't even thinking about the no-hitter. I got aggravated about the strike zone though. I wasn't getting calls on the corners like I had earlier, and I didn't want to leave it over the plate. I just kept throwing it off the plate until I started getting the calls."
