Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga 1, Coll. of Charleston 0 (8 inn.); Coll. of Charleston 4, Chattanooga 3
Frost Stadium

Head Coach Frank Reed
On the double header:
"If you pitch a kid that starts out throwing a no-hitter and take her out of the game after three innings, people will think you're crazy. But we wanted to see how it was going to work going into the tournament. We wanted to keep some people off guard and keep offense down. I thought they did a good job of doing that the first game. Nikki (Waters) was strong those two innings she threw so we thought we would go back to her for the second game. We might have left her in the game a little too long. I just don't understand going from throwing a no-hitter to giving up nine hits with those three pitchers. We still left ourselves a window to win. We had the bases loaded with no outs at one time and Charleston got out of it. We can't let those opportunities go by like that. It's worried us the whole time, and we had to win the first one in extra innings. That was our fourth, maybe, in conference play that we've had to take into extras. We can't depend on those games."
On wrapping up the season:
"As a coach, you look at it two ways. You want to have that momentum going into the tournament, or you can get beat and see how much you need to step your game up. I prefer to win the game and have that momentum going in, but we may create more momentum by actually realizing we're still not where we need to be."
Senior Pitcher Brooke Loudermilk
On today's games:
"I don't know where the fire was. Even in the first game, it was just like we didn't expect to win. I feel like our pitching did a great job. We practiced pitching all three of us in one game this week in order to prepare for the tournament, and I thought we did a great job."
On the rest of the season:
"It is easy to look at the rest of the season like we don't have anything to play for, but then we are selling ourselves short. We've got an awesome chance to post a great record for our team. We have to think ahead and be determined to win."
Senior Catcher Brittany Eason
On catching the no-hitter:
"We practice all week. We threw live Wednesday and Thursday, throwing Nikki (Waters), Brooke (Loudermilk) and Kandice (Irwin) so we were ready for it. That's the first no-hitter that I've caught from three pitchers."
On leading off the bottom of the 8th:
"Coach Martin has always preached putting the ball in play. I just went up to the plate looking for a hole."
On Tomorrow's Senior Day:
"Senior Day is going to be bitter sweet. My parents are sad and I am sad, but I am ready to move on and start my life."
