On the match:
“One thing is that I think we are playing better. Over the
last couple of matches at least at home, we did not really show up. Tonight, we
actually showed up, but just did not really finish. We had a chance in the
second set to go up, 2-0, at 24-19 and we missed a serve, then everything
snowballed from there. Overall, it is good to see Courtney come to life because
our middles started slow tonight. We could not get the pass [off the serve].
Then our outside struggled and the middle stepped it up”
On Bailee Chastain:
“I think that she did a good job considering our passes were
shacky at times especially towards the end. I was frustrated that I could not
use our middle because they have been very effective for us this year. When
(Christina) Teter is in the front row, we have to use her because she has the height and is
a strong hitter, so we don't have to rely on our outsides. Bailee did a good
job. One thing that she has been working on is her defense and that showed
tonight.”
On what to take from the second set:
“They just have to learn to have that killer instinct. We
know that we are up like 24-19 and think that we are supposed to win. Everyone
kind of takes a step back. We need players to step up and
demand the ball at that time. All we need is one more point, set me up and let
me put it away. The girls were
talking about that in the locker room that everyone should be developing that
desire to want the ball and finish in that situation.”
