DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, S.C. --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team finished sixth at the Rees Jones Invitational on Haig Point Golf Club Tuesday. Chattanooga's final round 301 gave it a three-day total of 909.

"It's disappointing," said head coach Mark Guhne. "There were a lot of factors involved, but those are excuses when you allow them be. I'm glad our next event (Brickyard Collegiate) is this weekend. We are ready to get back into competition."

Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) led the Mocs with his second top 10 in three events. Jaeger tied for seventh at six-over par 222 shooting 74, 75 and 73.

Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) posted his first top 20 of the season tying for 20th at 228 (+12). Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) shot 230 to end up tied for 30th, three strokes ahead of Benni Weilguni (Langelois, Austria) who tied for 36th. Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) wound up another stroke back tying for 39th at 234.

Kennesaw State repeated as champions shooting 894. The Owls overcame an 11-stroke lead by Iowa State to open the day to beat South Carolina by four shots.

ISU's Nate McCoy won medalist honors at six-under par 210. He finished nine shots ahead of runner-up Ben Greene of Kennesaw State at three over.

Chattanooga returns to the tee this Friday at the Brickyard Collegiate Classic in Macon, Ga. The 54-hole event features 18 holes per day ending on Sunday with live scoring available on GoMocs.com with access on the men's golf schedule page. The Mocs finished sixth in last year's event one shot ahead of Clemson led by Fox's tied for eighth finish (-3).
