Saturday - Oct. 8, 2011

TEAM
- The 23rd-ranked Mocs fall to 2-4 on the year and 0-3 in the Southern Conference with a 28-27 loss at No. 1 Georgia Southern.  The Eagles remain undefeated at 5-0 and atop the SoCon standings at 4-0.

- Chattanooga's Walter Payton Award Candidate QB B.J. Coleman left the game in the second quarter with an injured shoulder.  RFr Terrell Robinson took over for the rest of that possession that ended with a fumbled snap.  Sophomore Graham Nichols took the next series that ended with a three-and-out.  Robinson controlled the offense the rest of the way.

- Georgia Southern came into the game with the No. 2 ranked rushing defense in the nation, allowing just 57.0 yards per game.  The Mocs were No. 100 in the nation in rushing offense, averaging just 92.0 yards per game.  Chattanooga racked up a season-high 238 yards on 52 carries.  That is 10 yards more than the total GSU had allowed this season.  UTC had rushed for a total of 188 in the previous three games.

- The Eagles came into the game No. 3 in the nation in total offense, averaging 498 yards per game...UTC held GSU to 383 yards tonight.

- 238 rushing yards for the Mocs is the most since posting 262 against No. 6 Appalachian State on Nov. 16, 2007.

- The Mocs 87 yards passing is the fewest since posting 36 at Alabama in 2009...fewest against an FCS opponent since gaining 56 at No. 3 Elon on Oct. 18, 2008.

- UTC's second scoring drive was seven plays (all runs) for 76 yards, capped by a 20-yard TD run from junior J.J. Jackson.  The other 56 yards were gained on the ground by freshmen (Robinson - 30, M. Green - 11, Tyson - 15).

- The Mocs three losses against FCS opponents have been by a total of four points (14-12 at No. 3 Appalachian State, 28-27 vs. The Citadel and 28-27 at No. 1 Georgia Southern).  Chattanooga has played the fourth toughest schedule in the nation.

- Chattanooga's 27 points were the most allowed by GSU this season.

- Chattanooga's third scoring drive went for 16 plays and 80-yards in 6:05, capped by an 11-yard Terrell Robinson run.  The 16 plays and 6:05 were both season-highs for the Mocs.  16 plays tied for the third longest drive in terms of number of plays in the Huesman era.
