MACON, Ga --- Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) shot three-under par 69 to finish fourth at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship on the Brickyard at Riverside. His six-under par total of 210 led the Chattanooga Mocs to sixth-place in the event.
Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) and Jaeger ended strong for the Mocs each carding three-under 69s. Both had five birdies, 11 pars and two bogeys on their day.
Jaeger's fourth-place finish is his third straight top 10 and second top five for the season. Fox shook off a tough second round to tie for 20th at three-over par 219.
Benni Weilguini (Langelois, Austria) and Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) tied for 61st at 230 shooting 76 and 77, respectively, in the final round. Alex Ratliff (Kingsport, Tenn.) concluded with a 78 to end up with a total of 235.
"Jaeger was solid," said head coach Mark Guhne. "He continues to lead us, but he needs some help. We counted eight scores of 74 and higher. That isn't going to cut it.
"We are far too talented for that," Guhne added. "I expect us to close out the fall on the right note in Atlanta."
Georgia Tech won by 17 shots over Florida State. The Yellow Jackets shot 16-under par 848, while FSU ended up a one over, 865.
The Seminoles' Brooks Koepka claimed medalist honors at 11-under par 205. The Georgia Tech duo of Seth Reeves and Anders Albertson tied for second a shot ahead of Jaeger at seven under (209).
The Mocs head to the tee for the final time this fall at the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic in suburban Atlanta. The event is Oct. 17-18 at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Ga. Live scoring can be accessed on the men's golf schedule page on GoMocs.com.
