The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team had seven members earn All-Southern Conference honors according to the league coaches. The Mocs put three on the first team and four on the second squad, the conference office announced today.
Freshman Terrell Robinson was also named the co-Freshman of the Year after an outstanding rookie campaign. He went 2-1 as the Mocs' starting quarterback and was named the league's Freshman of the Week three straight times.
Robinson, a native of South Pittsburg, Tenn., completed 27 of 43 passes for 336 yards and six touchdowns. A dual threat for UTC, Robinson also carried 90 times for 417 yards and 5 TDs. He is the second-straight Moc, and third overall, to earn league Freshman of the Year honors.
Senior receiver Joel Bradford (Chattanooga, Tenn.) was the only other offensive player chosen from Chattanooga. He makes his second appearance after earning first-team honors last season. He finished the year with a team-high 660 yards on 53 catches and five touchdowns.
Chattanooga led the league in total defense (305.3), pass efficiency defense (100.15), scoring defense (19.7), turnover margin (+9) and pass defense (140.8) and put three on the first team. Sophomore Wes Dothard (Carrollton, Ga.) was a three-time SoCon Player of the Week and the Player of the Month for September. He had two scores on the year, a 30-yard pick-six against No. 10 Jacksonville State and a 43-yard fumble return at Samford. Dothard was also fourth in the nation with five forced fumbles.
Ryan Consiglio (Franklin, Tenn.) moved up from his spot on the second team last season. His 120 tackles led the SoCon during the regular season. He earned the final defensive player of the week after posting a career-high 19 tackles against No. 12 Wofford. He finishes his career ranked No. 6 on UTC all-time tackles list with 321.
Joshua Williams (Griffin, Ga.) is also making his second appearance after earning second team honors as a freshman. He holds the Mocs' all-time record with 21.5 career sacks and has one more year to add to that total. He led the league with 9.5 sacks while totaling 42 tackles overall. He also had a team-high seven hurries.
Three defensive backs made the second team, led by senior captain Chris Lewis-Harris (Smyrna, Ga.). Lewis-Harris was fourth on the team with 59 tackles while adding six pass break-ups.
Sophomores D.J. Key (Centerville, Tenn.) and Kadeem Wise (Lawrenceville, Ga.) also made the second squad. Key was third on the team with 77 tackles and led the squad with three interceptions. His 85-yard pick-six against Western Carolina was a school record. Wise, last year's SoCon Freshman of the Year, repeated on the second team. He had a pair of INTs while adding 45 tackles.
