CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Rashad Hassan's 19 points and seven rebounds led Savannah State (2-5) to a 72-66 win over Gardner-Webb (2-5) in the second game of the Hoosier Classic Chattanooga Bracket. Hassan led an exception second half performance for the Tigers.

SSU hit 14 of 16 shots from the field, 87.5 percent, including all 13 attempts inside the three-point arc. Hassan scored 11 of his 19 as the Tigers overcame a one-point halftime deficit.

Gardner-Webb closed to three points, 52-49, on a Stefon Johnson jumper in the paint with 8:42 left in the contest. Savannah State took control from there with an 8-0 to go up 60-49 on a Preston Blackmon three at 5:33. The Bulldogs would get no closer than five the rest of the way.

Jason Dawson led GWU with 16 points in 23 minutes of action. Johnson had 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals, while Laron Buggs came off the bench with 13 points and six boards.

Arnold Louis had 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals. The Tigers had a 44-20 advantage on points in the paint.
