Head Coach Frank Reed
On the game:
"It was cold. The game started at 39 degrees, misting rain and the weather stayed the same throughout. Fuzzard pitched a four-hitter with three errors. It still would have been 1-0 if Stiles was able to get the throw to third and force the girl out. It hit the girl in the helmet, kicks over into the dugout and they score. Fuzzard struck out nine, but the other girl struck out 13. It was basically a pitcher's game with the cold weather. Nobody really killed it offensively."

On senior Michelle Fuzzard getting back on track:
"She was dominant today. She was off a little bit last weekend, but she was back to her dominant self. The first run scored off a little ball that dinked up the middle on an outside pitch. The girl just threw her hands at it. She pitched awesome today and I wish that we could have backed her up. I feel bad that we didn't because pitching wasn't the issue. It was putting up offensive numbers with us only recording two hits."

On what needs to be changed offensively going into tomorrow:
"We need to be more selective. We were swinging at pitches out of the zone. The kid that pitched was a good pitcher, she transferred from Fresno State. She did not throw anything that we could not hit, but we just got ourselves too deep in the count. Then, she was throwing bad pitches for strike three. We need to make sure that we stay ahead in the count and make positive swings on the front end."

On the team's morale being down early:
"I never thought that we could not swing our way out of it because we had the right people up at the right time. You have to be able to put it on the bat. We still were just unable to lay off bad pitches late in the count. We talked about it and just did not make the correction."

"With our speed players, the field was slow today. It was mucky and stuck to your shoes. We did not feel like we could use our speed players like we wanted to. By virtue of that, they probably pressed a little harder at the plate."
