TEAM
- For the second straight game, the Mocs dropped a one-point SoCon game, this time falling to Davidson 64-63...UTC is 9-13 overall and 3-6 in SoCon action...the Wildcats improve to 15-4 overall and 9-0 in league play.
- UTC also fell at Elon on Saturday 88-87...UTC has three losses in league play by two points or less, including an 87-85 overtime setback at the College of Charleston on Dec. 3.
- UTC snaps a seven-game home winning streak.
- Davidson came into the game shooting a league-best 50.3% from the floor...UTC held the Wildcats to 38.6% (22-57) shooting for the game.
- The Wildcats did tie a season-high with 11 3-pt. FGs and 36 3-pt. FG attempts...they were leading the league in 3-pt. FG% at 3.96% in conference games, but shot just 30.6% tonight.
- Chattanooga made a season-low seven FTs and tied a season-low with 14 FT attempts...the Mocs also shot a season-low 50% from the FT line.
- UTC was down two 57-55 with the ball with 3:20 left on the clock but could not close the gap...Davidson scored the next five to take a seven-point lead with 1:21 left...Chattanooga went on a 8-1 run with two threes from Keegan Bell, including a game-tying bomb from 25 feet with 4.5 seconds left to knot the score at 63.
- Nik Cochran scored the game-winner on a FT after being fouled with 1.2 seconds left.
- Davidson led by as many as 13, 45-32 on a Jake Cohen layup with 12:02 left in the game.
- The Mocs dominated the paint, outscoring Davidson 34-20.
- UTC looses for just the second time in 10 games when outshooting its opponent from the field.
INDIVIDUAL
Freshman Jared Bryant
- 10 points off the bench.
- Shot 4-4 from the field and 2-2 from the FT line.
- Season-high and game-high eight rebounds.
Senior Keegan Bell
- Tied the game at 63 on a 25-foot 3-pt. FG with 4.5 seconds left.
- Finished with eight points on 3-10 shooting, 2-6 from 3-pt. range.
Junior Dontay Hampton
- 10 points on 3-10 shooting, 1-6 from 3-pt. range and 3-4 from the FT line.
- Seventh game in double-figures...fourth in SoCon action.
- Added three boards, two assists and three steal.
- No turnovers in 23 minutes off the bench.
Senior Ricky Taylor
- Team-high 14 points on 5-11 shooting, 2-4 from 3-pt. range and 2-4 from the FT line.
- Added four boards and four assists.
- Moves past Stanford Strickland (1981-84) for No. 12 in all-time FGs made with 379.
- Ties Isaac Conner (1996-99) for eighth all-time at UTC with 149 3-pt. FGs.
Junior Drazen Zlovaric
- 10 points on 5-7 shooting.
- 12th game this season in double figures...sixth in SoCon action.
