WILMINGTON, N.C. --- The 22nd-ranked Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team is third after 36 holes at the Seahawk Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Landfall. UTC is 10 shots off the pace set by East Carolina.

The Mocs started slow with a 12-over par 300 in the opening round. They followed that with an even-par 288, which was the third lowest round of the day. UTC limped out of the gates at 13-over par through four holes. It played one-under on the last 32 holes.

Senior Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) is tied for fourth at two-under par 142. He played his first 18 at one-over 73 before firing a three-under par 69 in round two. The Ben Hogan Award candidate is three shots shy of leader Wesley Bryan of South Carolina at five under.

Steven Fox (Nashville, Tenn.) is tied for 12th at 146 (+2). He tied Jaeger with a 73 in round one before shooting the same score the second time around. Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) is tied for 19th at 149 (+5). He bounced back from a 77 with a level-par 72.

Liam Johnston (Dumfries, Scotland) and Benni Weilguni (Langenlois, Austria) each matched Robb's 77 in the first 18. Johnston is tied for 28th after a 74 on his second 18 puts him at 151. Welguni is tied for 41st at 155.

East Carolina shot the low round of the day with a six-under par 282 after opening with a 296. The Pirates (578) lead Wake Forest by six at 584 with UTC in third.

Tomorrow's final round starts at 8:42 a.m. Weiguni leads off for the Mocs at 9:45 a.m., trailed by Johnston, Robb, Fox and Jaeger. The Mocs are paired with ECU and Wake Forest.
