Chattanooga 7th after 18 Holes at JMU Eagle Landing Invitational

ORANGE PARK, Fla. --- Sophomore Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) fired a two-under par 70 Friday at Eagle Landing golf club leading the Chattanooga Mocs into seventh after just 18 holes at JMU Eagle Landing Invitational. UTC's total of 303 is its best opening round of the 2011-12 season.
Britt's 70 ties for the low round by a Mocs women's golfer this season with Marion Duvernay (Publier, France) and her own performance in in the final round of the Tar Heel Invitational in October. Today's two under tally included four birdies and 12 pars.
She is fourth behind Campbell's Kaylin Yost at five-under par 67. USF's duo of Christina Miller and Shena Yang are tied for second at minus three.
Maria Juliana Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) posted a two-over par 74. She is currently tied for 11th. Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) and Duvernay rounded out the team scoring shooting 79 and 80, respectively. Sophie Weilguni (Langenlois, Austria) had the drop score with an 84.
USF lead after opening with a one-under par 287. Campbell and East Carolina are tied for second at 294. Maryland is one shot back in fourth at 295.
Chattanooga returns to the course for round two of three in the morning. Weilguni leads the Mocs off the first hole at 8 a.m. She is followed by Duvernay (8:08), Kryger (8:16), Loza (8:24) and Britt (8:32). Live scoring of the round can be found on the GoMocs.com women's golf schedule page.
