BATON ROUGE, La. --- Senior Stephan Jaeger fired a final 66 (-6) to lead the Chattanooga Mocs to an eighth-place finish at the LSU National Invitational. UTC shot 290 Sunday to end up at 894.

Jaeger's six-under par day vaulted him into the top 20 at five over 221 for the 54 holes tying for 17th. He was one shot behind teammate Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.). Fox's 72 moved him into a tie for 14th at 220 (+4).

Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) shot 73 (+1) to wind up at nine-over par 225, tying for 29th. Liam Johnston (Dumfries, Scotland) and Alex Ratliff (Kingsport, Tenn.) rounded out the team scoring with twin 79's today. Johnston shot 231, while Ratliff ended at 242.

LSU stormed from six shots back to retain its title shooting minus nine (279) today, 853 (-11) for the tournament. Iowa dropped to second at nine under (855) as Purdue was a distant third at 13 over (877).

Austin Gutgsell (LSU) one-upped Jaeger with a seven-under par 65 (-7) to claim medalist honors at 207 (-9). Purdue's Jakob Ziegler was second at 211 (-5). Andrew Pressley (LSU) and Erik Van Rooyen (Minnesota) tied for third at minus four (212).

It's on to the Southern Conference Championship for Chattanooga. This year's league crown will be decided on the Ralston Creek Course in Daniel Island, S.C., April 15-17. Live scoring can be accessed on GoMocs.com via the men's golf schedule page.
