CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's soccer team held off Western Carolina in regulation, but fell 1-0 in overtime to the Catamounts at Finley Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Western Carolina's Kimberly Sullivan headed in her first goal of the season off a corner kick from Madison Lee in the 99th minute for the Golden Goal and the win in Southern Conference action. Chattanooga falls to 4-9 on the year and 0-6 in league action while the Catamounts are 7-6-1 on the season and 2-4 in SoCon play.

The Catamounts Kelly Pannell had eight shots on the day with WCU outshooting the Mocs 27-3. Senior keeper Taylor Mangrum (Franklin, Tenn.) snared nine saves while Chattanooga's defense deflected several shots inside the box.

“Of our four players in the backfield, two are freshmen and one didn't play much in the last year,” UTC Head Coach J.D. Kyzer said. “They are starting to know each other out there and starting to play together. They did a good job out there today.”

Andi Argueta (Clarksville, Tenn.) and sophomore Skylar Brewer (Farragut, Tenn.) each had a shot on goal for the Mocs late in regulation, but couldn't get past WCU's keeper.

Chattanooga will step out of conference play to host Francis Marion Friday night at Finley Stadium. The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. and admission is FREE.
