Men's Basketball Postgame Quotes
Furman at Chattanooga
McKenzie Arena – Chattanooga, Tenn.

Head Coach Will Wade
Thought on how the defense played in the second half:
“We did a much better job in the second half; which was really good. That's a positive to see that we guarded better in the second half. I think at one point with six minutes left they only had eleven points in the second half; which was really good. I thought we did a nice job.
“I think they only got one offensive rebound In the second half, so we did a nice job with defensive rebounding; which was something that we talked about.
“We fouled the a little bit too much, but a lot of those came at the end when they were just putting their head down and driving to the basket. We did a nice job driving their stuff. Coach Savage did a nice job preparing us.
“We played ball screens three different ways based on who the big was, who was setting them, and where they were setting them. That's tough to do. I thought maybe we out smarted ourselves after practice the other day, but our guys really figured it out and did a nice job with it.”
Justin Tuoyo
What is your goal/ role for the team?
“Well my role for the team is to be a defensive anchor for us. Whatever the team needs me to do, defensively, I'm going to try to do It the best I can. Whether it's cut the ball screens or block shots, defensive rebounds, whatever they need me to do I'm going to do it.”
Casey Jones
Thoughts on what Furman does well:
“They're a really good team. They have a lot of weapons. Bean averaged twelve points a game. He's a great three point shooter, and those freshmen, those two starting wings are really, really good too. Our emphasis was transition defense and guarding the three point line. We focused on transitioning defense and guarding the three point line.”

Opening Statement”
“I thought tonight that Chattanooga competed really well. Our team, as young as we are, we've really been fighting hard , and I thought that there were periods of this game where Chattanooga just played harder than we did.
“Their athleticism kind of wore us down especially late. We turned the ball over too many times. I thought they had a really good game plan against us. They did a nice job of switching out and not allowing us to shoot threes.
“Tuoyo can really protect the rim. You know we didn't have the ability to shoot enough threes tonight. They did a good job denying reverse, and they really took Jeff Bean, who's really been playing well, out of the game with their defense.
“I thought they deserved to win the game. We played well in stretches. We won't be the last team to come in here in the Roundhouse and lose. But I like our team. We're young, we're improving, we're getting better and I'm looking forward when they come up to Timmons in a month.”
