TEAM
- Chattanooga improved to 15-8 overall and 8-2 in SoCon play with a 78-73 win over The Citadel … Bulldogs drop to 8-13 overall and 3-7 in league play.
- The Mocs are 12-2 at home this season … 24-4 in McKenzie Arena in two seasons under head coach Will Wade.
- Chattanooga is alone in second place in the SoCon race … one game behind Wofford (18-5, 9-1 SoCon) and one game ahead of Mercer (12-11, 7-3 SoCon).
- Neither team missed much in the first half … UTC shot 19-27 (70.4%) from the field while The Citadel was 12-20 (60.0%) … consequently, The Citadel only had six rebounds as a team at the break, compared to 12 for the Mocs.
- The Citadel kept the hot hand in the second half, shooting 57.7% (15-26) in the final 20 minutes.
- The Bulldogs shot 58.7% (27-46) from the field for the game … best shooting % by the Bulldogs against a DI team this season … best FG% allowed by UTC in SoCon play this season … UTC was just 2-3 when allowing an opponent to shoot over 50% this season … 2-12 under Will Wade.
- UTC forced nine turnovers in the first half, scoring 18 points on those miscues.
- The Mocs shot 56.3% (27-48) from the field … second-best % this season (62.8% (27-43) vs. Northern Kentucky 12/16) … fifth time over 50% this season … first since the Northern Kentucky game.
- The Mocs led by as many as 21 (53-32 – 18:24) in the second half.
- Tonight's attendance of 4,307 was a season-high … UTC is leading the SoCon in average attendance (2,996) … Mocs are averaging 3,344 fans in six home SoCon games.
