The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team looks to build on its school-record performance in last week's win.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is in Pinehurst, N.C., for this week's Pinehurst Challenge. This year's event is on Pinehurst No. 1 featuring 20 teams.
The Mocs are coming off a school-record performance claiming the 18th win in program history last week at the Fall Invitational. But coach Colette Murray is more interested in looking ahead than behind.
"Our goals stay the same," Murray stated. "We will continue to prepare as best we can heading in to the Pinehurst event. When we get there, we hope we can execute.
"We need to continue to work hard. We've shown what we are capable of, and I'm hoping it gives us some confidence heading to Pinehurst."
Not surprisingly, there is no change to the lineup. Last week's medalist Emily McLennan leads Isabella Loza, Megan Woods, Cris Perez and Monica San Juan in the 54-hole event. It was McLennan's second win, while she, Loza, Woods and Perez tallied career-best scores.
The tourney starts with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start. The Mocs tee it up on holes 4-7 with Nebraska, Maryland and Elon.

- McLennan's career-high 14 birdies at the Mercedes-Benz Championships tied for the tourney high. Her six in round two tied her career-best for 18 holes. She is averaging 4.3 per round with four or more in five of six 18s thus far.
- McLennan has 21 career par or better rounds. That's second all-time at Chattanooga behind Emma de Groot (2008-11) who holds the record with 32.
- The squad has 78 birdies following 36 at the Mercedes-Benz Championships with 42 at the Fall Invite. That's an average of 13.0 per round.
- Loza turned in new career highs last time out for 18 (70), 36 (140) and 54-hole (212) scoring as well as birdies in a round (5) and for an event (11).
- Perez tied her low 18 (71), while setting a new ones for 36 (142) and 54 holes (217) at the Fall Invite.
- Woods set a new lows for 18 (71), 36 holes (146) and 54 holes (218) as well at the Fall Invite.
