MOCS MEN'S BASKETBALL QUOTES
Game No. 25 | Chattanooga vs. Wofford | Spartanburg, S.C. | February 12, 2015
Head Coach Will Wade
On tonight game:
“18 is was more than we like. We had five turnovers in the second half which was good. I told our guys if we could just a shot on the basket it will help. I thought we did a good job in the first half on the defensive glass. Certainly, being able to keep them into a low-shooting game, which made up for our turnovers. We were pretty efficient and I thought it was big that we had the lead at halftime.”
On making decisive plays:
“We were able to make the plays down the line. We got all those offensive rebounds and got to the foul line. We were able to make some stops and rebound. We wanted to execute and have better pace in the game and tonight we were able to do that.”
On following the game plan:
“We got their attention this week. We had two tough practices and our guys are ready. You could tell they were ready. We were ready and now we just have to stay on this mission for the rest of the season.”
Junior Forward Duke Ethridge
On what tonight's win meant for the team:
“Tonight was a very big one for us coming from a loss. We stuck through it, we worked hard and we came together as a team.”
On Chattanooga's performance in the first half:
“Like Coach tells us 'you can't dwell on the play, you have to keep moving'. That's what we did and we stuck through it.”
On Chattanooga taking the lead:
“I never thought that the game was won. It was a toe-for-toe game. It wasn't an easy win for us. They were very physical on both ends.”
Junior Guard Casey Jones
On his presence in the first half:
“Coach Wade showed us some video from the Western Carolina game and told me that I needed to score more for us to win. He particularly showed me some plays were I was really passive, so tonight I attacked like I should always do.”
On the team's energy tonight:
“Tonight's energy was definitely better. We didn't have this spirit when we played Western Carolina. I don't know why but we're correcting it. It was big for us tonight having that spirit. I looked over at the bench and they we're going crazy and that's really big for us.”
On playing a complete game:
“I feel like we played a whole game tonight. We were aggressive on defense and I don't think they scored 50 points and that's what you want on a defensive-minded team. You always want a low-scoring game for your opponent.”
