MOCS MEN'S BASKETBALL QUOTES
Game No. 23 | Chattanooga vs. Furman | Greenville, S.C. | February 5, 2015

Head Coach Will Wade
On the game overall:

“It wasn't a work of art, but good teams find a way to win. I compared this game to the game last year at Samford (OT loss). We weren't great, but we made enough plays and got a key stop at the end. It wasn't a thing of beauty by any means but it's a win. It's a win and that's what matters. We need to get better before Saturday or Saturday won't be a win.”

On Chattanooga's performance:
“Poor effort on the glass on our part, it was not good enough. But like I said, the stats didn't really favorite us in pretty much anything, except we took more shots than they did. However, the only stat that matters is the final score and we won. We could have made it easier on ourselves and got a few more rebounds, but that's the way it goes.”

On Justin Tuoyo contribution in the second half:
Justin Tuoyo did a nice job in the second half. Our guys did a good job finding him. We need to get that ball inside more. He asserted himself and was more aggressive in the second half, which is what we need. He was certainly a big piece down the stretch. He had some big dunks. I thought he was really good from the free-throw line, going six-for-six at the foul line. That's huge.”

On securing the win:
“One thing I do think we did better was we executed our offense better down the stretch. We had a better pace. We had good shots. We didn't hit them all, we drove them in there. We got much better looks and our pace was much better down the stretch, which is something that we've been trying to focus on and we were certainly better tonight.”

On Ronrico White's 1,000 career points on a three-pointer:
“It's great for him. I am proud of him and we talked about it in the locker room, how proud we are of him. It's a great accomplishment, something that will always be in the books at Chattanooga.”

Senior Ronrico White
Thoughts on the game:

“This is how life on the road is.  They came out real aggressive and ready to play.  Things weren't going our way early, but we fought back, kept fighting and found a way to win.”

On his three-pointer to end the first half:
“It definitely made a difference going into the half.  The game was tied up, and it put the team closer.  It was a big play.  We went in with a little momentum.  We tried to come out and play better basketball in the second half.”

On getting to 1,000 career points on a three-pointer:
“I did not know that was it, but once I came out of the game, I saw I had over 10 points so I knew then.  It felt good.  I have been here a while.  It is a great honor to be among some of the best basketball players who have every played here.  Brandon Born, Willie White, Gerald Wilkins, the list goes on and on.  It is a tremendous honor.”

“Like I said last week, we have a lot more work to do this season.  We have a long way to go, and we are going to get better.  I am anxious to see where we are going to end up.”

Sophomore Justin Tuoyo
On his play in the second half:

“Rico and Greg came to me at the half and said 'We need you to be aggressive out there and attack everything.'  So I tried to do that in the second half and get us a win.  It worked out perfectly.”

On getting a win in OT:
“That's the conference on the road.  You just have to grind every game out.  Overtime came and we knew we were not playing the best we can.  Everyone just came together as a team and we came away with the win.”
