Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga at Western Carolina
Ramsey Center – Cullowhee, N.C.
Saturday, Feb. 7

Head Coach Will Wade
Thoughts on the game:

“I thought we battled back, which is nice to see.  We can't dig ourselves that big of a hole.  We have done that in our last three road games at Mercer, Furman and here.  If we keep doing that, it is just tough to battle back and win.

“We've got to give ourselves a better opportunity to win and play from even.  When we make little runs, that gives us 6-8 point leads, as opposed to cutting it to 2-4 points.”

Thoughts on pay in the second half:
“I thought that it was good.  We wanted to get the ball in the paint.  I felt like we settled for too many jump shots in the first half.  That's a tough way to live, especially when you are not making a lot of them.

“We felt like we needed to get the ball in the paint and touch the paint.  Do a good job in the lane.  We got some good looks we just didn't get enough of them.”

“I thought we had a couple down there that should have been and-ones we just didn't finish strong.  We need to go back and work on finishing those and do a better job.”

Thoughts on coming back from down 14 at halftime:
“I felt good then.  We had a good look at a three at the end.  We were going to go for the win.  We played in an overtime game on Thursday night and I felt like we needed to go for the win.  It was a little bit short.  I thought we fought hard, we just could not quite get the lead.”

Greg Pryor – So.-G
On the start of the game:

“At the beginning of the game, we have to start coming our more focused.  The first half of the season, we were a first half team.  The second half, we have come out slow and we need to adjust it.  We have to come out with pace and put two good halves together.”

On Sinclair's go-ahead basket:
“Sinclair made a big shot.  We played good defense, he just knocked it down.  They are a good team and he is a good player.  You have to give him credit for that.”

Justin Tuoyo – So.-F
On the difference between the two halves:

“In the first half, I came out slow.  The team came out slow.  Western Carolina jumped out on us, so we knew in the second half we had the first four minutes to get back in it.  We came out attacking and tried to cut the lead down as best we could.

On the slow starts in recent games:
“Every team in the conference is going to be ready to play us.  They see we are near the top of the league, so they are going to come out fired up.  We have to realize that and we have to come out more fired up than them.  If we do that, it gives us a better chance to come out strong in the first half.”
