Chattanooga Takes the Tee Monday at the Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate

Maria Pineiro and the Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team is back in action Monday and Tuesday at Ridgeway Country Club.

GERMANTOWN, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team looks to build on a strong start at this week's Memphis Women's Intercollegiate. It starts Monday with 36 holes before a final 18 on Tuesday.
Cristina Perez (72.56) and Holly Morgan (73.22) lead the team west. Perez is the team's scoring average leader, while Morgan, a freshman, has five par or better 18s in nine cards.
The duo is joined in the starting lineup by Monica San Juan (73.78), Megan Woods (74.22) and Maria Pineiro (75.33). Maddy McDanel (76.00) gets an individual slot in the tournament.
The Mocs have turned in ninth, fifth and 11th-place finishes against three strong fields. The wins include (21st-ranked) Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, (30) Baylor, (49) Virginia, Michigan State, (45) Wisconsin, Maryland, N.C. State, Mississippi State, Penn State, Clemson and Indiana. Chattanooga is No. 36 this week.
