Mocs Tied for Sixth Through 36 Holes in Atlanta

Brooks Thomas turned in twin rounds of 3-under 69 to sit in fourth-place with a career-best 36-hole total of 6-under 138.

DULUTH, Ga.---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team is tied for sixth after 36 holes of the AutoTrader.com Collegiate. The team navigated Berkeley Hills Country Club at 3-under 573 which was matched by Georgia Southern.
 
The Mocs went out in 283 before a 290 in the afternoon. Brooks Thomas and Wes Gosselin fueled the 5-under morning 18 with 3-under 69s. Etienne Brault shot 72 with Lake Johnson turning in 73. Thomas had a 69 in round two as well with Gosselin (73), Brault (74) and Will Porter (74) rounding out the counting cards.
 
Thomas is in fourth-place at 6-under 138, his career low over 36 holes. Gosselin is tied for 14th at -2 with Brault (+2), Porter (+4) and Johnson (+5) right behind. Stuart Thomas is tied for 20th at 1 under playing as an individual as is Phillip Hickam at 153.
 
Ole Miss (550) holds an 11-shot lead over South Florida (561) and 15 clear of Lipscomb (565) in third. The Rebels' Braden Thornberry is the individual leader with an afternoon 64 sparking a 12-under 132 total.
 
Chattanooga begins final round play at 8:15 a.m., off No. 1 They take the tee with Georgia State, Georgia Southern and Middle Tennessee. Johnson leads the Mocs followed by Porter, Brault, Gosselin and B. Thomas. Click the links above for 36-hole results, live scoring and pairings.
