RESULTS | NOTES

DULUTH, Ga.---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team shot its best 54-hole score of the season finishing sixth at the AutoTrader.com Collegiate. The 5-under 859 bettered last week's 863 at the Firestone Invitational.

It was powered by a 286 in today's final round. Etienne Brault turned in the best round of the season with a 6-under 66. Will Porter added even-par 72, while Lake Johnson and Wes Gosselin posted 73 and 74, respectively.

"We've really tried to relax and have fun again on the golf course," coach Mark Guhne said. "I think we were so tight and had our minds going so many different ways on the course that we needed to get back to having fun, and it looks like we did based on the scorecards."

Brault tied for ninth for his first collegiate top 10 at 4 under. Brooks Thomas tied for 21 at E, with Gosselin just behind at +1. Porter finished at +4 in just his second start, while Johnson was two more back at +6.

Stuart Thomas nearly matched Brault playing as an individual. He turned in three par or better cards tying for 13th at -2. Phillip Hickam shot 231.

Ole Miss ran away with the team title shooting 831. Lipscomb was second with an 846, while Troy ended up third at 847. The Rebels' Braden Thornberry was medalist at 18 under.

"We beat some good teams," Guhne added. "I really liked what we got from E and Will. They give us so much depth in the lineup. E has worked really hard on the right things the last few weeks and it showed in a big way."

That ends the fall schedule for the Mocs. They return to the tee in February at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate.
