The Chattanooga Mocs softball team fell to Central Arkansas 10-3 in nine innings to finish the Bulldog Slamboree in Starkville, Miss. UTC is 12-9.
Senior
Sam Taylor got the Mocs' offense started with a single to right field. She scored after a hit from senior
Anyssa Robles to make it 1-0 in the bottom of the first.
In the top of the fifth, senior
Amanda Ross caught a ball going over the back fence in the left field to keep UTC's one-run lead. She tallied four putouts against the Bears.
Chattanooga had two hits and a fielder's choice to load the bases in the bottom of the sixth, but the squad was unable to put together a run.
The Bears scored in the seventh inning to tie up the game 1-1. Central Arkansas then had two runs in the top of the eighth, bringing the score to 3-1.

Ashley Conner hit a sacrifice fly,
which brought Robles home, making it 3-3.
Central Arkansas then put up seven runs in the ninth.
Sophomore Kailey Palazzolo pitched the first five innings and part of the ninth, fanning four strikeouts. Freshman Jordan Fortel stepped in the circle during the sixth.In the third and seventh, Taylor hit a double leading the team with three hits. Blanco and Corum followed with two hits apiece.
Robles led the squad with eight putouts and freshman
Amanda Beltran had five.
The Mocs return home to face Lipscomb Wednesday, March 9 at 5:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) in Frost Stadium.
