LaHue Wins on Final Day at MTSU

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Dale Short Invite, presented by Jason's Deli, in Murfreesboro, Tenn., today. Sophomore Paul LaHue led the Mocs with a three-set win in singles action.
LaHue took on UAB's Fernando Vargas and opened with a 6-1 win in the opening set. The Memphis, Tenn., native dropped the second frame 7-6 in a tiebreaker. The duo played a 10-point super-tiebreaker to decide the match. LaHue won that 10-6.
"I thought we competed hard today just as they did all weekend," stated head coach Carlos Garcia. "I am proud of how we carried ourselves throughout all 3 days.
"Paul LaHue had a great win today in singles and it was exciting to see him play today at such a high level. The hard work he has put in a short period of time is starting to pay off."
The Mocs return home for the UTC Steve Baras Fall Classic next weekend. Action takes place at the Champions Club in Chattanooga on Sept. 30 – Oct. 1.
